Guitarist Of Fastball Shares Insights Ahead Of Saratoga Concert

  • SARATOGA, CA — The band Fastball will be making a stop in Saratoga as part of its summer tour and their guitarist and vocalist can’t wait for locals to experience it. "The show is the be all, end all,” Miles Zuniga, of Fastball, told Patch. "We're gonna have a great time. Just come to the show. It's gonna be magnificent." Fastball will be performing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga with The Bare Naked Ladies and Guster as part of the “Last Summer on Earth” tour. "All my amps are perfectly tuned up; everything's sounding really good. And I love rocking out," Zuniga told Patch. The band celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024 with the release of its ninth studio album, “Sonic Ranch.” But Zuniga told Patch he still can’t get enough of playing the hits such as “The Way” and “Out Of My Head.” “The biggest hits are my favorites, just for the dopamine factor. People love it, and I love that they love it," Zuniga told Patch. Fastball was formed in 1994 in Austin, Texas by members Zuniga, bassist and vocalist Tony Scalzo and drummer Joey Shuffield. In 1998, the hit single “The Way” gave them worldwide recognition. The band has continued to release popular music and enjoyed success touring all over the world. Their party days may be behind them but Zuniga loves performing as much as ever. "I used to love all the trappings of being in a rock band. I used to love to get wasted and have fun,” Zuniga told Patch. “Now all I really care about is doing a good show for people and playing music to the best of my ability."
