I'll bet most investors have never heard of the Allspring Global Dividend Opportunity Fund. And yet, it's been one of the best diversified equity CEFs this year. With an NAV up +13.8% YTD, that's way ahead of the S&P 500 up +7.0%. Add in EOD's +9.3% market yield while at a -9.9% discount, and what's not to-like? EOD hasn't had the best track record, having gone public just before the financial crisis in 2007, but ever since Allspring took over the fund in 2021, performance has improved.
